Earlier today, it was revealed that both David Fincher & Tim Filler have been working on a Halo 4 Launch Trailer, which will dive into the Master Chief’s backstory as well as sharing information on the ancient evil in Halo 4.
The image shown above, is a still from the upcoming trailer.
The trailer, which will be titled ‘Scanned’, will be debuted on October 18th, via the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon TV show.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to direct the Halo 4 launch trailer in creative partnership with 343 Industries and David Fincher,” said Miller. “”Halo is one of the most iconic sci-fi universes, with a depth that allows for amazingly cinematic and emotionally riveting stories. The chance to tell a story that explores never-before-seen facets of Master Chief’s journey is an honor. Yesterday 343 Industries released a video on their YouTube channel showcasing some of remastered sounds for Halo 4. We got to see and hear some of the sounds of some UNSC weapons, ranging from the classic pistol to the other classic of the Battle Rifle. Plus the sound of a few new weapons being introduced into our arsenal of destruction.
Personally, I like the new some of the new sounds of the weapons. I have always loved it when shooters make the weapons sound realistic, it’s a real disappointment when a large-caliber weapon sounds like an office stapler… Several keen eyed members from a Halo community noticed that there was also a new weapon of some sort hinted at during the section with the rocket launcher. Most of the theories are wondering if it is some sort of sidearm for the new enemies you will be fighting. Dubbing it the “Promethean Pistol”, whether this is the case or not, we shall find out! Without further adieu, the trailer advertising some UNSC weapon sounds from Halo 4: Continue Reading
If many of you have been following me on twitter you will have already known that sources have been talking about Microsoft and the new dash beta that will be going on internally in September/October hopefully releasing a public beta possibly in late October early for the new generation dashboard out this fall.
Microsoft has been sharing details of the updated dashboard that was revealed at E3 2011 with a selection of gaming sites within the past week. The new dashboard update is bringing in new applications such as YouTube and Bing to Xbox 360, where gamers will be able to use the voice feature to search for a range of items including music, movies, Xbox LIVE content and more.
One well known gaming site Venture Beat were picked to get a more hands on feel of how Kinect has been integrated and also for those who don’t have kinect, you can read Venture Beat’s review here. The Xbox’s functionality for the YouTube application is not ready to be released just yet but the company plans to make it available in the beta test due out in October.
However Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson revealed the company’s current plans and possible changes in a blog post on Monday. This reveal comes less than a week after Microsoft confirmed it would start beta testing the new dashboard in October.
“I’ve gotten a lot of questions asking me if there is going to be a Preview Program for the upcoming dashboard update, said Larry Hryb (Major Nelson). “I am working with the teams here on a Preview Program for the new dashboard similar to the one we did last year,”
The preview program is expected to launch before the end of the year although the Major was very tight lipped about if a preview would defiantly be going ahead. Microsoft has previously promised to the Xbox community that the dashboard will be made available by the end of the year.
The project has been Codenamed “Madrid”, the dashboard will bring Microsoft’s Metro style interface to the Xbox to give it a much more fluid look to match the Kinect Dashboard and current Windows Phone user interface.
