In practice, writing a “review” of a beta is not the wisest thing to do. With that said, try not to think of this as a “review” of the Destiny beta but merely my thoughts on it as a Guardian within The Last City. For those that are unsure what Destiny is, it is Bungie’s sort of shooter/MMO hybrid with the setting of various different planets in our solar system. Yes, you can actually go to the moon.
Fans of the Worms franchise that have moved onto next generation systems will be happy to know that one of their favorite titles will be arriving on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

Cuali (a name which means “good” in Nahuatl) is an Aztec warrior from Mexico, who took to the sea, joining any mission that would allow him to combat the Spanish conquest of central America. A fighter, he survived the destruction of his community and went on to join forces with a growing contingency of native Templars who sought renewed peace and order.
After many months of what has been called “the darkness”, Bungie has been letting the information on their new IP Destiny trickle out to fans at a slow rate. The last large amount of information we knew about was the announcement of a beta that will be arriving in 2014; today we received a definitive date as to when we get our hands on this new title.
September 9th, 2014 the world will finally get its hands on the first installment of this new journey. Also unveiled is that the beta will arrive in the Summer of 2014 instead of the Spring of next year as earlier reported. The PlayStation 3 and 4 will still receive access to the beta earlier than the Xbox One and 360. At this point it is still unknown how early it will be available and when it will launch on the Xbox systems.
Word is floating around that the Freedom Cry DLC for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will land on December 17th. At this point it is unknown if any system will receive Freedom Cry first. It will release on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Freedom Cry lets you take on the role of the Jackdaw’s quartermaster, Adewale as he continues his mission to bring freedom to the slaves of the 17th century Caribbean. As of now, no price is known but it is included for free as part of the season pass for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
