I wanted to write you an eloquently penned introduction, full of cleverly-crafted phrases intended to evoke emotional responses relevant to the recent warm and festive holiday season, except I couldn’t remember the name of the traditional party favor typically used during celebratory occasions. Yesterday, Frank O’ Connor, Franchise Development Director over at 343 Industires, revealed that Halo 4 had been sent off for certification.
“We had a big piece of news yesterday back in the office, which is that the game is literally finished at this point, they are handing it off through the various certification processes and that, and we’re done.”
“It’s been three years of incredibly hard work by about 300 people.”
Those were the words straight from Frank O’ Connor’s mouth yesterday at a press event.
Considering the game went gold on September 25th, 2012, that means it went gold on the five year anniversary of Halo 3, Bungie’s last Halo game linked to the original trilogy.
It won’t be long now before we hear news of the gold disc being sent off to manufacturers for mass production and mass shipping to stores across the entire world.
Halo 4 releases on November 6th, 2012, exclusively on Xbox 360.
