After many months of what has been called “the darkness”, Bungie has been letting the information on their new IP Destiny trickle out to fans at a slow rate. The last large amount of information we knew about was the announcement of a beta that will be arriving in 2014; today we received a definitive date as to when we get our hands on this new title.
September 9th, 2014 the world will finally get its hands on the first installment of this new journey. Also unveiled is that the beta will arrive in the Summer of 2014 instead of the Spring of next year as earlier reported. The PlayStation 3 and 4 will still receive access to the beta earlier than the Xbox One and 360. At this point it is still unknown how early it will be available and when it will launch on the Xbox systems.
Yesterday the cover art for Bungie’s new IP Destiny was unveiled for the systems it will be released on. Today we saw the arrival of a new trailer; showcasing one destination that many have been waiting for, the moon.
Today is the start of a new month, and with that two new offerings will be available for the Games with Gold program on Xbox LIVE.
To kick off this month, you can download Might & Magic Clash of Heroes for free. This game will be free from October 1st through October 16th. You may download this title here: Might & Magic Clash of Heroes.
After the 16th, you will be able to download Halo 3 as the second half of October’s Games with Gold. This will be available from October 16th, through the 31st. As of this time, we do not know if any additional map packs will be included in this offer.
Earlier this morning, Bungie released the box art for Destiny. On the PlayStation blog they also mentioned that a new trailer is inbound for tomorrow.
Yesterday as part of Bungie’s trip to Gamescom they unveiled a new video documentary on Destiny. While we don’t receive much new information, we do find out that Bungie has high hopes for their next project. Below is the new video, “Out Here in the Wild”.
Destiny is being released next year on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as Xbox One and PS4. If you’d like to pre-order Destiny, you may do so here.
While we’re waiting for the world premiere of gameplay Bungie’s next game, Destiny we were graced with one of the first trailers for the game. In collaboration with director Jon Favreau, visual effects house Digital Domain, and actor Giancarlo Esposito; this part CG, part live action trailer shows three Guardians in action against several enemies that will be present in this new adventure. Be sure to watch Sony’s keynote conference at E3 on June 10th for the world premiere of gameplay footage from Destiny.
With the announcement of the Playstation 4 yesterday, another announcement about Destiny came out of Camp Bungie. This time in the form of a video showing Bungie co-founder Jason Jones announcing that Destiny will be released for both the PS3 and PS4 at the same time of the games launch.
We still do not know a whole lot of information in regards to Destiny, but there is a bit of new gameplay featured in the announcement video that was released by Bungie.
