Xbox 360 has recently announced an upcoming partnership with a charity called Gaming and Giving for Good 2011 or if that’s to much of a mouthful G3 2011.
The charity partnership is aiming to raise money for the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The CMN provides treatment and comfort to millions of sick children every year from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia.
The Idea of G3 2011 is for gamers on Xbox LIVE to play games for as long as possible on Saturday October 1st and raise money for doing so.
Gamers that are interested as to how to get involved need to head over to the G3 website to sign up.
The Idea of the Challenge is for you to set a goal amount to raise when you sign up and have family, friends, work colleagues or whoever to pledge money to you for every hour you play, this also includes joining or creating a team to raise the funds between your friends for bigger overall pledges.
The participants are free to choose who to raise funds for. The hospitals that are participating in the program are from countries such as USA, Canada, UK, Ireland and even Australia, and if you just cant choose which you would like your raised funds to go to, then there’s always the option for it to go into the International Grant Fund.
In aid of getting as many of you Xbox addicts to join in, those of you that are silver members of LIVE will be getting free Xbox LIVE Gold status for the weekend from October 1st to the 2nd. G3 begins at exactly 8 a.m. in your local time zone on Saturday, Oct. 1, and ends at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2 2011.
