Roughly 48 hours ago, many users started reporting on the Halo Waypoint forums that they had been banned after playing split-screen games on the new Crimson Map Pack, released on December 10th.
The Matchmaking team over at 343 Industries was quick to respond to the complaints from users, informing them that they were not banned for playing the Crimson Map Pack by either purchasing it or previewing it using the 14 Day Play & Try program.
Shortly after that, the Forum Team account replied on the forums.
As you can see, the accounts banned were false and were later resolved, however, we do not know the fault that caused these players to be banned in the first place, or if it was even related to the Crimson Map Pack at all.
This does bring back memories of the prerelease play for Halo 4, where all those, including members of the press who had the game early, were accidentally permanently banned from Halo 4’s matchmaking, and later unbanned – could the same error have been made here, or was it simply just a coincidence?
