With Xbox LIVE turning 10 years old today, it seems that those who have been with the service from the begining were sent a code for an exclusive helmet for their Xbox LIVE avatar. And with the exclusiveness of the helmet, came the madness.
Supposedly if you were a ten year member of Xbox LIVE (essentially since the service started back in 2002) you got an email with a code to download the above helmet. According to @AvatarHunters, they are seeing a few people report that they received an email with a code for the helmet despite their tenure being only of 6 years.
Reports are saying people are getting the codes with memberships tenure of 6 to 10 years

There are also the rumors floating around of people receiving the code via email after being only an Xbox LIVE member for four years. After research, we could not find a 4 year member that received this helmet.

According to the @XboxSupport overflow account (@XboxSupport1), they do not have specifics on the helmet giveaway and advise people to check their main email folders and any spam folders.
@ascii211 We don’t have specifics on that helmet giveaway. If you’re a Rewards member, check your email and spam to see if you got it! ^JI

That tweet from XboxSupport might suggest that you have to have been an Xbox LIVE Rewards member to also “qualify” for this helmet. This is something that we’re not sure on however.
We’ve been told that if you receive any emails from Xbox Marketing this week, to read those thoroughly as some codes might sneak their way into those emails as well. It would also seem that ontop of this email, you also get a message over Xbox LIVE with a code; whether it is for the helmet or perhaps something else is not yet known by us here at IVG.
If you get Xbox marketing emails, be sure to read any you get this week. Apparently some avatar helmet codes are in those as well.

We’re not positive if anyone in the UK has received a code for this elusive avatar item, but we are awaiting confirmation from one of our other UK staff members who should have qualified for one.
If you happen to be reading this and have one of these codes laying around collecting space dust, please float Info@ivgaming.co.uk an email and we can use it for a future giveaway! Be sure to stay tuned as we sort through everything and update this article as we receive more information on these helmets.
