That Golden Chest is taunting you isn’t it? Just sitting there, waiting to be opened and expose its hopefully really good loot for you to use. You know you want to open it but can’t due to not having any golden keys to open it with. Rest assured Vault Hunter! It is that time of the week again where we learn of new details on the upcoming Matchmaking update for Halo 4, starting Monday, we will be getting another rotational playlist to devour your eyes for a week.
Team Regicide – NEW PLAYLIST!
Team Regicide is based off the new Free for All experience known as Regicide which is a normal FFA gametype, but the player in the lead is the king, the more kills the king gets, the higher bounty you have as the king, and when you die, what ever your bounty is will be given to the player who killed you in points.
“Team Regicide features several medals, HUD, an announcer VO unique to the team variant, and is a heavily teamwork-focused game type, emphasizing many 4 vs. 4 team encounters and strategy. Unlike FFA Regicide, the King’s bonus does not fluctuate as the King gets kills.” Continue Reading
I think we’re just getting started
Handsome 343 men feet getting started on their holiday pedicure
When I joined the studio in 2010, the team was heads-down creating Halo Waypoint and Halo Legends. As I watched numerous people hunched over their desks, hard at work, I remember saying to myself, “I think we’re just getting started.”
On November 15, 2011, when we released Halo: Anniversary, our remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, the same thought ran through my mind: “I think we’re just getting started. Continue Reading
Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson posted the following on his blog:
“I wanted to let you know that the team has just released a system update for the Xbox 360 over Xbox LIVE. Starting today when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.
In this update, we are correcting some issues such as displaying the incorrect playlist name when launching a playlist from Xbox SmartGlass to the console, an error with Xbox Video closed-captioning and an error with Xbox Music that some were experiencing.
Thanks and we will see you online.”
This image was taken by a forum user on the Halo fansite ‘The Halo Council‘ who found it on German Xbox 360 Dashboard.
The above image contains dates of what looks to be release dates for the three Halo 4 Map Packs coming with the Halo 4 War Games Map Pass, i.e. the first three Map Packs for Halo 4.
In rough terms, that gives us the following release dates for each map pack:
- Crimson Map Pack – December 10th, 2012
- Majestic Map Pack – February 25th, 2013
- Castle Map Pack – April 1st, 2013
Of course this is all rumoured until confirmed true, the image itself does look completely legitimate.
343 Industries has yet to comment on the image, or announce any proper release dates for the map packs other than estimate months for the release.
Stay tuned for more information.

The Game of Life for Windows Phone – Mini Review
That pretty much sums up this game in one word. If you have played the board game in the past and have happy memories of family gatherings playing games then this helps bring those feeling back, albeit for a short time.
Released as part of Nokia’s exclusive deal with EA it is currently only available to those who have one of Nokia’s Lumia handsets and willing to part with £2.29.
There are two game modes; a solo mode playing against AI opponents and a “Play with Friends” option that allows you to play with other friends by passing the phone over. Sadly this lacks the turn-by-turn based multiplayer over LIVE. Continue Reading
