In a gameplay demo shown at San Diego Comic Con, we get more of a glimpse into the city of Boston. Extra commentary was provided by Alex Hutchinson, the Creative Director for the Assassin’s Creed series; and he explained some of the new features and refinements that are being introduced into the franchise.
One of the new changes discussed in the video is the entirely new combat system. Hutchinson states that the combat system has been rebuilt from the ground up in order to better suit Connor’s expertise in dual wielding weapons. The health system while in combat has been redone as well, no longer will you be able to rely on medicine bottles or let your health regenerate while fighting. You’ll have to finish whatever combat you are involved in before your health will regenerate.
Also shown in the demo is how you will interact with the rest of the city of Boston, it also introduced the new “stalking zones.” Which according to Hutchinson are simply mobile hiding spots. It also showcased how allies throughout the city will be able to help you get into areas being heavily guarded.
